S. Garcia attended Space Florida’s quarterly Board
of Directors meeting in his capacity of Advisor to the Business
Development Committee. Oscar shared his views on the developments
of commercial space in South Florida with Space Florida
CEO Steve Kohler, Vice Chairman Gary Spulack. Space Florida’s
Board of Directors is chaired by the Honorable Charlie Crist,
Florida’s Governor. Oscar stated to the Advisory Committee,
“The commercial space business related to space tourism
and related activities has a potential direct and indirect
economic impact and business backlog of more than US$ 2.0
Billion.” The Board’s CEO, Steve Kohler discussed
exploring the commercial space possibilities in South Florida
and Dade County with Mr. Garcia and selected public and
private entities during 2008.
